Pork and Pintos

Pork and pintos - slow cooked pork, and seasoned beans, combined with cabbage in a rich, flavorful stew. Simple home cooking at its best.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small onion chopped
  • oil for pan
  • 1/2 t ground cumin
  • 1/2 t chili garlic paste
  • 4 oz cooked pork shoulder chopped in bite sized pieces
  • 2 c coarsely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 c broth more if needed
  • 2 c cooked pinto beans

Instructions
 

  • Saute onion and seasoning in a large fry pan. Add the pork, and stir. Saute for a few minutes.
  • Add cabbage. Stir to coat with seasoning. Add broth.
  • Add beans. Stir in, adding more broth if needed.
  • Simmer 10 minutes or longer, until cabbage is cooked and flavors have blended.
  • Serve.
